View my CVI enjoy spending time with my family, we love to go hiking together. Due to the current unusual circumstances we've been researching all the local walks within a 20 mile radius. I also enjoy reading, especially science fiction, but really the story is more important than the genre.
My role involved working with key stakeholders from infrastructure and enterprise IT through to marketing, new business and sales; as well as coordinating with 3rd party API consumers and communicating technology strategy to the company board and investors. Our systems were built using .NET Core microservices and I introduced continuous build and deployment to the Azure platform. The systems were involved with lead management and loan decision making, taking input from numerous 3rd party systems. We made extensive use of queuing technology as well as Azure functions and Service Bus. We also used more traditional RDBMS stores to manage these flows effectively.
Well the truth is I never actually planned to leave tech. It sort of happened by accident. After my last job I planned on taking some time out to spend with family and have a longer than usual holiday back home in Ireland. Then Covid happend and all bets were off. We decided as a family it would be better to use this break as an opportunity to home school my boys without the stress of trying to start a new job and to attempt to keep some sort of normality. During my break I realised that I wanted to change direction in my career and this was giving me the chance to make the change. In my previous roles I was happiest when involved in the technical side of team leadership.So I see this break as a positive it's given me the headspace to work out what I want to and I feel Tech Returners will greatly assist me in this journey. I'm excited to get started!
